Key requirements of the role include:

  • Work with the Director of Sport to ensure that pupils can use the Fitness suite during the after school sessions and potentially during some PE lessons as required by the curriculum; this will require the supervision of pupils, who will have already received an induction.
  • Record and monitor safety checks of the gym equipment during working hours.

Hours will be primarily based on after school sessions; the information below is for illustration and may change depending on the timetable:

  • Monday - Thursday 15:45-17:00 (5 hours); option for extra hours on a Thursday from 12:30

A successful candidate will need to be well informed and current in terms of knowledge about safe exercise practice for young people in a fitness suite environment and be experienced and confident in using a range of fitness room equipment. Experience of instructing in a fitness suite is highly desirable but not essential; all necessary training will be provided prior to the role commencing.
