We are looking for a General Farm Worker to join a team at our large cattle finishing and arable farm. The full-time position consists of a 40-hour week, Monday – Friday with some occasional weekend work. The role is based in Myton on Swale, on a modern farm with a fleet of up-to-date machinery. The farm finishes around 3,000 cattle a year and farms 1,200 acres of land. The candidate would be expected to be hands-on and undertake a variety of farming tasks including a mix of cattle and tractor work.

Key Skills, Qualities & Experience

  • Ability to work independently and within a team

  • Willingness to work long hours and some weekends during busy periods
  • Ability to operate and maintain farm equipment in line with health and safety legislation
  • Knowledge of agricultural machinery and cattle husbandry is desirable but not essential.

The successful individual will be enthusiastic, reliable and self-motivated and happy to work outdoors in all weather.

  • Forklift certificate desirable but not essential (training would be given to the right candidate)
  • Experience of driving farm vehicles
