We’re hiring an MLP Gas Trainer for Smart Energy Training.
Location: Ashbourne and Nottingham
Salary: Up to £44,000 pro rata (permanent) or £25 per hour (freelance)
Hours: Flexible – typically weekends 9:30am – 1:00pm and evenings 5:30pm – 9:00pm, but days and times may vary to meet learner demand.
About you:
Are you an experienced gas professional looking to inspire the next generation? We’re looking for an MLP Gas Trainer to deliver flexible evening and weekend training at our Ashbourne centre.
What is an MLP? MLP stands for Managed Learning Programme, a structured course or training programme designed to give learners the practical and theoretical knowledge required to become competent gas engineers. This role is ideal for someone who wants flexible working hours and can be undertaken as a permanent employee or on a freelance basis.
The role:
- Delivering high-quality MLP gas training to small groups of learners during evenings and weekends
- Supporting learners through practical and classroom-based learning
- Preparing learners for assessments and industry qualifications
- Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback
- Maintaining accurate learner records and documentation
- Creating a positive and supportive learning environment
- Ensuring delivery aligns with industry standards and MLP programme requirements
What we’re looking for:
- Strong industry experience in domestic gas
- Confident delivering training to small groups of learners
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Teaching qualification (e.g., AET, DET, PGCE or equivalent)
- Assessor qualification (e.g., TAQA or equivalent)
- A passion for developing the next generation of engineers
