Salary: Up to £44,000 + bonus (dependent on experience & qualifications)
About you
Are you an experienced gas engineer ready to pass on your knowledge and inspire the next generation of tradespeople? We’re looking for knowledgeable and enthusiastic Gas Trainers to join our expert team across our Ashbourne, Nottingham, and Lutterworth training centres. Whether you’re already a trainer or a skilled gas engineer looking to step away from the tools and into education, we’ll support you to transition into a training career and develop your teaching skills.
What you’ll be doing:
- Deliver engaging, high-quality training to gas apprentices and learners
- Plan and deliver structured lessons aligned with qualification standards
- Support learners through practical workshop sessions and classroom learning
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to help learners succeed
- Assess learner progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Maintain accurate learner records and documentation
- Work closely with employers and internal teams to support learner progress
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Keep up to date with industry developments and gas safety standards
What we’re looking for:
- Strong industry experience in gas engineering and heating systems
- A passion for developing and supporting the next generation of engineers
- Confident communication and presentation skills
- A supportive, patient, and learner-focused approach
- Renewable energy experience (e.g. heat pumps, solar thermal, low-carbon technologies)
- Plumbing qualifications or broader smart energy experience
- Teaching and/or assessing qualifications (AET, DET, PGCE, TAQA or equivalent) – training can be provided
Salary and benefits:
- Salary up to £44,000 plus performance bonus
- 37.5 hours per week (typically Monday to Friday)
