Smart Metering sits as a key enabler of a net-zero energy system and there has never been a more important time for ensuring that smart meters and the supporting Smart Energy Code (SEC) arrangements are fit for the future. The parties to the SEC are at the forefront of developments that will allow energy consumers to make better use of their energy and reduce their energy bills, whilst ensuring more efficient use of the energy system and assets.

About the Role

You’ll play a key role in supporting our Board and wider team, helping everything run smoothly behind the scenes. You’ll work alongside the Governance and Executive Assistant preparing papers, coordinating meetings, and stepping in to take minutes when needed. Alongside this, you’ll provide flexible administrative support across the organisation, getting involved wherever help is required. This is a practical, delivery-focused admin role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Board support (shared responsibility)
  • Coordinate monthly Board meetings.
  • Prepare agendas and collate Board papers.
  • Ensure papers are issued accurately and on time.
  • Support the Business Operations Manager and Governance and Executive Assistant.
  • Take minutes when required (cover, overflow, or additional meetings).
  • Track actions and follow up with owners.
  • Maintain Board folders and document libraries.
  • General administration
    • Provide ad hoc admin support across teams.
    • Manage shared inboxes and correspondence.
    • Maintain digital filing systems.
    • Support scheduling and basic diary management.
    • Assist with internal processes and deadlines.
  • Process support
    • Keep templates and admin processes up to date.
    • Help improve admin workflows.
    • Handle confidential information appropriately.

    What you’ll bring

    • Previous experience in an administrative role.
    • Experience supporting meetings (senior or Board level preferred).
    • Confident minute-taking.
    • Strong organisation and attention to detail.
    • Comfortable with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
    • Clear written English.
