Smart Education is recruiting Teaching Assistants to support pupils in both mainstream and specialist SEND schools in Melton Mowbray. The role focuses on assisting learners with a variety of needs, from typical primary pupils to those with SEN and complex learning requirements, in a structured, supportive, and inclusive environment.

Job Requirements

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred)
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN or complex needs in schools (essential)
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Child or Child/Adult DBS (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid passport
  • Ability to provide 24 months of employer or academic references

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1, small group, or whole-class support for pupils with SEN
  • Assist with learning activities, behaviour strategies, and individual plans
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement
  • Support social, emotional, and academic development
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external specialists
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
