The predicted salary is between 18600 - 20200 £ per year.

Pay Rate: £90.15 - £99.65 per day

Location: Birmingham

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm

Are you experienced in supporting students with challenging behaviour in PRU or Alternative Provision settings? Smart Education is recruiting for a resilient and passionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist setting in Birmingham, working with students aged 8 to 19 who have complex additional needs including SEMH, MLD, ADHD, and BESD. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in high-impact environments and is committed to helping young people build confidence, independence, and the skills they need to succeed.

Key Requirements:

  • Must have experience working in a school setting supporting students with challenging behaviour ideally in a PRU or AP
  • Minimum of 6 months experience working with SEN learners
  • A valid Child or Child & Adult Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Ability to work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to implement support strategies
