1:1 Teaching Assistant (Part-Time)

Pay rate: £14.61 – £15.15 per hour

Location: Hereford

Hours: 3 days per week | Approx. 10:30 – 13:30

Smart Education is currently recruiting for a part-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Reception pupil with additional needs in the Hereford area. This role is ideal for a calm, patient and nurturing individual who has experience supporting children with SEN on an individual basis. The pupil can become dysregulated within the classroom environment but responds positively to consistent 1:1 support. The school is currently in the process of pursuing an EHCP, so experience working with early interventions and structured support strategies would be highly beneficial.

Job requirements:

  • SEN experience essential (qualification not required)
  • Patient, calm and nurturing approach
  • Experience supporting emotional regulation or behaviour needs
  • Ability to build trust and consistency with young learners
  • DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid passport
  • Ability for us to obtain 24 months employer or academic references

Role responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Reception pupil
  • Support engagement in classroom activities
  • Help manage emotional regulation and transitions
  • Work closely with class teacher and SENCO
  • Encourage independence and social interaction
  • Follow individual support strategies and routines
