The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant with experience supporting pupils with high levels of need.

You will work collaboratively as part of a skilled team to provide a nurturing, structured environment for pupils with a wide range of complex SEND.

Responsibilities

  • Support children and young people as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
  • Assist in lessons, helping with learning, communication, and daily routines.
  • Work one-to-one or in small groups to help pupils achieve their EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) targets.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals to promote positive outcomes.
  • Encourage independence and wellbeing throughout the school day.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 6 months experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, supporting pupils with complex SEND.
  • Confident working with children and young people who have physical, medical, or learning difficulties.
  • Enhanced Child or Child & Adult DBS (on the Update Service) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Ability to provide references covering the previous 24 months.
