Smart Education is currently recruiting dedicated Attendance Officers to work in schools across Teesside. This is an excellent opportunity for someone organised, empathetic, and proactive who wants to support both students and staff in maintaining high standards of attendance.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Monitoring and recording student attendance and punctuality
- Contacting parents and guardians regarding absences or lateness
- Maintaining accurate attendance records and producing reports for school leadership
- Supporting students and families to overcome barriers to attendance
- Liaising with teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies as required
- Contributing to strategies that promote a positive school culture around attendance
Who We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of 6 months’ experience in a school or administrative setting – UK experience essential
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and staff
- A professional, positive, and solution-focused attitude
- Confident using IT systems and databases to record and analyse attendance
- Enhanced DBS (Child or Child & Adult Workforce), or willingness to apply
- Genuine interest in supporting students and improving school attendance
