Job Requirements of a SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Minimum 6 months UK experience in a Primary school.
- Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, or social, emotional and mental health needs.
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and support their individual learning and development.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Patient, caring, and adaptable approach, with a commitment to promoting inclusion and helping every child achieve their potential.
Role responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Maintain a safe, positive and productive classroom
- Work collaboratively with Teachers, support staff and SEN teams
- Follow school policies and expectations
- Working with pupils in class, small groups and 1:1
- Working across Key stage 1 and Key stage 2
