Job Requirements of a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Minimum 6 months UK experience in a Primary school.
  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, or social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and support their individual learning and development.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Patient, caring, and adaptable approach, with a commitment to promoting inclusion and helping every child achieve their potential.

Role responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Maintain a safe, positive and productive classroom
  • Work collaboratively with Teachers, support staff and SEN teams
  • Follow school policies and expectations
  • Working with pupils in class, small groups and 1:1
  • Working across Key stage 1 and Key stage 2
