Smart Education is currently recruiting for an experienced and inspirational senior leader to join an all-age broad-spectrum special school in the Stratford-upon-Avon area. This is an exciting opportunity for a high-performing practitioner who is passionate about inclusive education and ready to play a key role in shaping the future direction of a specialist setting.
This role would suit an established Assistant Headteacher, SENCO, or experienced middle/senior leader looking to progress into a wider leadership role within SEND education. Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven leadership experience at middle or senior leadership level
- Experience working with pupils with SEND or transferable leadership experience from mainstream education
- SENCO qualification desirable, or willingness to undertake SENCO training
- Strong strategic leadership and school improvement skills
- Excellent communication, resilience and emotional intelligence
- Ability to motivate, inspire and lead staff teams effectively
- Enhanced Child & Adult DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Headteacher in driving school improvement and strategic development
- Lead on quality of education, curriculum development and teaching standards
- Support staff development, coaching and performance management
- Ensure high expectations and inclusive practice across the school
- Work collaboratively with families, external agencies and trust leaders
- Promote positive outcomes for pupils with a wide range of complex needs
- Act as a visible, supportive and inspirational leader across the school
