The Role
This is not a traditional secondary teaching role. The school is specifically seeking a Primary‑trained teacher due to the nurturing, holistic, and therapeutic approach required. You will be delivering a broad, differentiated curriculum to small groups of secondary‑aged students, all working at various academic levels.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the emotional, behavioural and academic needs of each student.
- Create a calm, structured and supportive learning environment by using restorative and therapeutic approaches.
- Respond effectively to students' social, emotional, and mental health needs, adapting where necessary.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals, implementing behaviour support plans and promoting positive student outcomes.
Skills and Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a Primary teaching qualification is essential.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, in alternative provision or nurture settings is highly desirable.
- Excellent behaviour management skills and strong emotional resilience.
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students to support their progress both in and out of the classroom.
Location and Package
- Location: Shifnal
- Contract: From 01 September 2026
- Salary: £160 - £200 per day
