Smart Education is currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work in Erdington across both mainstream and specialist settings, with a strong focus on supporting pupils with additional needs. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a difference in the classroom and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant who can confidently support pupils with a range of learning, communication and behavioural needs. This role offers flexibility with full-time, part-time and day-to-day opportunities available across supportive school environments.

Job Requirements of a Teaching Assistant:
  • Minimum 6 months experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or supporting pupils with SEN
  • Experience within a UK school setting (mainstream or SEN) as a SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Enhanced Child or Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Role responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support as a SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Support pupils with learning, behaviour and emotional regulation as a SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and wider staff teams as a SEN Teaching Assistant
