Smart Education is currently recruiting for an ICT / Maths Teacher to work within a specialist setting in Kings Norton, supporting pupils aged 8–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who has experience working in PRU, Alternative Provision or similar settings, and is confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
The school provides a nurturing and structured environment, focused on giving pupils a second chance to succeed. With small class sizes and a strong pastoral approach, staff work closely with pupils to support both their education and personal development, promoting values such as positivity, respect, independence and resilience.

Job requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching ICT and Maths
- Proven experience working with challenging behaviour (PRU, AP or similar)
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service
- Able to clear compliance and provide references covering 24 months
- Available to start immediately
Role responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging ICT and Maths lessons
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of pupils with SEMH
- Manage behaviour effectively using a calm, consistent approach
- Support pupils’ emotional regulation and engagement in learning
- Work closely with pastoral teams and support staff
- Create a safe, structured and positive learning environment
