Dental Compliance Lead
Location: Northern Ireland Dental Practices
Employment Type: Part-Time (2–3 days/week) or Self‑Employed Consultant / Partner
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experiencedDental Compliance Lead to deliver consistent, high-quality clinical and corporate compliance across ourNorthern Ireland dental practices . You will unify fragmented compliance systems, lead strategic improvements, and embed a strong culture of quality and governance.
Reporting to the Operations Manager , you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing compliance activities across all practices in the region.
Aself-employed dental compliance consultant , partnering with us on a flexible basis
Key Responsibilities
Develop and oversee a centralised compliance programme, including:
Regulation 26 bi-annual inspections for all practices
Quarterly spot checks and full internal audits
Update and align the Statement of Best Working (SOBW) for Northern Ireland
Lead on RQIA compliance:
Communicate updates and changes to all practice managers
Support and prepare practices for RQIA inspections
Provide training and development for managers in compliance and auditing practices
Deliver regular compliance performance reviews and reports to the Operations Manager
Conduct unannounced practice visits and implement improvement plans where required
Candidate Requirements
Experience in healthcare service delivery, preferably within the dental sector
Strong knowledge of RQIA regulations, registration processes, and clinical governance
Familiarity with GDPR, data protection, and professional dental standards
Understanding of corporate governance in a medium-sized organisation
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage staff, and drive change
Confident in producing and delivering reports to senior stakeholders
Preferred Skills & Attributes
Experience with compliance software such as iComply, Dental Compliance Made Easy, or SOBW
GDC registration (where applicable) and a valid UK driving licence
Experience conducting unannounced inspections and implementing corrective actions
