Are you passionate about solving complex problems, driving continuous service improvement, and working collaboratively across diverse teams? At Smart DCC, we’re looking for a Problem Manager to join our dynamic Service Operations team.
As our Problem Manager, you’ll own and oversee the end-to-end resolution of service-related issues, ensuring problems are effectively managed, root causes are identified, and long-term solutions are delivered. Working across internal teams, third-party suppliers, and industry stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the integrity and performance of our national network.
This is a strategic and hands-on role, offering the opportunity to lead improvements that help shape the future of energy services in the UK.
What will you be doing?
· Be accountable for the end-to-end management of problems affecting DCC services.
· Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes and ensure outcomes are accurate, actionable, and communicated effectively.
· Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies, service providers, and regulatory partners.
· Drive proactive problem management using data, trend analysis, dashboards, and observability tools.
· Oversee and maintain the Known Error Database, ensuring visibility across the business.
· Collaborate with teams to identify recurring issues, develop workarounds, and communicate these effectively to impacted business areas.
· Foster a Problem Management community within DCC and our supplier network.
· Champion and deliver continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service reliability and customer satisfaction.
What are we looking for?
· Proven experience in a Problem Management role within a complex, service-led environment.
· Strong skills in critical thinking, root cause analysis, and data-driven decision making.
· Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
· A collaborative approach, with the ability to work across teams and influence effectively.
· High-level understanding of large-scale IT networks and service ecosystems.
· Passion for service excellence, continuous improvement, and making a meaningful impact.
· Effective communication (verbal and written)
· Problem-solving and analytical thinking
· Critical thinking and decision-making
· Teamwork and collaboration
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- ITIL V4 Foundation or above.
- Experience with RCA methodologies and tools.
- Technical knowledge or experience in project management.
- Familiarity with DCC’s network and service architecture.
