The purpose of this role is to ensure effective financial and management accounting across the organisation by assisting the development and adherence to financial controls and systems associated with the DCC business.

The Financial Accountant is responsible for gathering and monitoring financial data, preparing accurate management and statutory accounts, and other financial reporting and controls.

The Financial Accountant will support the Financial Controller in the delivery of the wider Finance team objectives and the implementation of continuous improvement across the function.

What will you be doing?

1. Support the FC team in operational activities, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and analysing data.
2. Prepare and support DCC’s monthly management account process and analyse and review variances between actuals and forecast.
3. Assist in the internal and external audit process and preparation of statutory financial information.
4. Develop and maintain a robust control environment to support financial reporting and ensure compliance with internal control policies.
5. Identify and drive process and control improvements and challenge existing processes.

What are we looking for?

1. Qualified Accounting qualification either CIMA/ACA/ACCA with up to 1 year post-qualified experience, with a good academic record and excellent analytical skills.
2. Proven experience in a Finance line role with responsibility for delivery of controllership activities.
3. Experience in design delivery of the financial close process, financial reporting, and control.
4. Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS, GAAP) and relevant accounting standards.
5. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and drive execution at all levels of the organization.
6. Experience of managing demanding stakeholders and influencing teams outside of direct function.
7. Demonstrates the ability to lead other internal stakeholders to help deliver a collective goal.
