We are recruiting for a Demand Lead who will act as a single point of contact for demand management for In Life Changes at DCC. Reporting to the Head of In Life Change, the successful candidate will collaborate cross-functionally within DCC, and with external governance such as RECCO (Retail Energy Code Company) and SEC (Smart Energy Code). You will be the ‘front door’ and will drive new items through the demand process. You will also manage the pipeline with Service Providers – with particular emphasis on strong medium to long term planning (i.e., over an 18–36-month horizon). In addition to forecasting and managing new demand into the team, the Demand Lead will find opportunities to drive efficiencies by tracking deliveries through to their release.

Responsibilities:

  • Define policies and processes for discovering, analysing, planning, controlling and documenting the need to carry out and co-ordinate impact assessments of project demand across the business and with external Service Providers in line with regulatory requirements outlined in the Smart Energy Code (SEC).
  • Be responsible for capacity and resource planning to ensure resources are effectively utilized, delivery risks are mitigated, and changes are delivered in a cost-effective manner.
  • Drive best practice and provide thought leadership to help stakeholders adopt and adhere to the agreed demand management approach.
  • Manage the process of integrating demand management with operational change delivery processes.
  • Review new business proposals and provide advice on demand issues.
  • Work with business representatives to agree and implement short-term and medium-term modifications to demand.
  • Maintain a pipeline/forecast of upcoming change for the In Life Change delivery team.
  • Categorize and prioritize technology demands based on urgency, impact, and alignment with business goals to facilitate effective resource allocation – working with Product Owners.
  • Work with In Life Change Delivery Leads to manage SLAs with REC, SEC and other Service Providers and drive efficiencies and improvements in this space.
  • Build and maintain a strong network within DCC and with key partners to drive outcomes.
  • Track new demand items end-to-end by collaborating with release management to ensure clear paths to live.

Desired Experience:

  • Technology Business Partnering.
  • Experience of planning/forecasting.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL.
  • A strong understanding of the IT project lifecycle and proven portfolio management experience.
  • Experience of transitioning services from build environments into operation.
  • Ability to identify risks and effective mitigation planning.
  • Experience in leading in a matrix environment – setting the pace for the team.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field;
  • Agile or Scrum Master certification;
  • Certified Demand Driven Planner (CDDP) or equivalent qualification.
