Lead the delivery of complex, business-critical programmes that support the evolution of Great Britain’s smart metering ecosystem. This is an exciting opportunity to join Smart DCC’s Change & Delivery Office, where you will manage high-profile programmes, influence senior stakeholders, and help shape the future of the UK’s smart energy network. How you will contribute to transforming the smart energy network and shaping the future
- Lead the mobilisation, planning and successful delivery of complex programmes aligned to strategic business objectives.
- Manage programme governance, finances, risks, issues, dependencies and delivery reporting across multiple workstreams.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with senior stakeholders, suppliers, regulatory bodies and industry participants.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and provide leadership across programme delivery activities within a matrix-managed environment.
- Ensure programmes remain focused on delivering measurable benefits while driving continuous improvement and delivery excellence.
What you need to bring:
- Demonstrable experience operating at Programme Manager level, delivering complex programmes rather than solely project-level initiatives.
- Strong programme governance, planning, dependency management, risk management and benefits realisation experience.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and engage senior leaders, suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- Proven experience working within complex delivery environments, ideally involving technology change, infrastructure programmes, regulated sectors or critical national infrastructure.
- Relevant programme management credentials such as MSP, PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent practical experience, alongside strong strategic thinking and leadership capability.
