SDWAN Solution Architect

Join Smart DCC as an SD-WAN Solution Architect and play a critical role in shaping secure, scalable, and high-performing network solutions that support the UK’s smart energy infrastructure. This is a high-impact role where you will act as a design authority, leading complex SD-WAN architecture across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments while influencing key stakeholders and driving technical excellence.

How you will contribute to transforming the smart energy network and shaping the future:

• Act as the SD-WAN Design Authority, ensuring all solutions meet standards across resilience, security, scalability and performance.
• Lead the end-to-end design and assurance of SD-WAN architectures, including integration across cloud (Azure/AWS), on-premise and hybrid environments.
• Provide technical oversight and assurance across vendors and delivery partners, ensuring alignment to architectural standards and business outcomes.
• Manage technical risks, dependencies and integration challenges across SD-WAN and network connectivity solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement through standardisation, automation and adoption of best practices across network architecture.

What you need to bring:

• Proven experience designing and delivering SD-WAN solutions (ideally Fortinet Secure SD‑WAN) across enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of network technologies including TCP/IP, routing, security appliances (e.g. WAF, Palo Alto, F5) and cloud connectivity (Azure ExpressRoute, AWS Direct Connect).
• Experience acting as a technical authority or lead across end-to-end network and connectivity delivery.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and clearly communicate complex technical concepts.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, security and compliance (e.g. TOGAF, GDPR, ISO27001) and high‑availability design.
