About the Opportunity
Smart Cookies is looking for a full-time Room Leader / Lead Educator based in Liverpool, NSW. You will lead a nurturing team focused on high-quality education, documentation, and critical reflection to support children’s development. More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead, inspire and mentor your early childhood educators to deliver engaging, play-based learning programs.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that supports every child’s development.
- Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Oversee program planning, observations, documentation, and assessment in line with the EYLF and NQS.
- Maintain the highest standards of child safety, wellbeing, and compliance.
- Contribute to our Quality Improvement Plan and uphold our service philosophy.
- Act as the Responsible Person in the absence of the Nominated Supervisor.
About You
To qualify, you will need a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care and prior experience as a Room Leader. A minimum of 2+ years in a leadership role within early childhood education is essential. You’ll also hold:
- Current Working With Children Check.
- First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis certifications.
- Accredited Child Protection Training.
The following will also be highly valued:
- Experience managing small teams in tight-knit environments and proven leadership and mentoring skills.
- Maintains composure and professionalism in a busy early learning environment.
- Strong knowledge of the NQS and EYLF frameworks.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
