The Electrician – Meter Certification is responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, calibration, and certification of electrical meters and associated power systems supporting DSLAM equipment in telecommunications networks. The role ensures all metering equipment complies with electrical standards, regulatory requirements, and operational safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and certify electrical energy meters used for DSLAM power supply systems.
  • Perform calibration and functional testing of meters to ensure accurate power measurement.
  • Inspect electrical panels, circuits, and connections associated with DSLAM cabinets and telecom sites.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and metering standards.
  • Maintain documentation for meter certification, calibration records, and compliance reports.
  • Diagnose faults in power metering systems and carry out necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Coordinate with telecom engineers during DSLAM installation or upgrades.
  • Conduct periodic inspections and preventive maintenance of power systems.
  • Ensure proper grounding, circuit protection, and load balancing for DSLAM equipment.
  • Follow lock-out/tag-out and other safety procedures when working on electrical systems.

  • Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.
