We are looking for people who have worked in the telecoms industry as Installation Engineers with experience working at heights. Working on a FTTP install project, we will provide initial upskilling/training and are able to offer the right candidates long-term career progression over several years. You must hold a valid SA001 / SA002 / NRSWA unit 2.

Job Requirements:

  • Driving to customers' houses and premises
  • Liaising with customers to ensure installations can take place
  • Adhering to Health and Safety legislation
  • Working at height - climbing ladders safely
  • Working in underground telecommunications chambers and in street cabinets
  • Installing fibre cable to customer premises
  • Installing a network connection point in customer premises
  • Explaining the new connection to customers and ensuring they are fully satisfied

You will have the following qualifications and be able to prove experience and competence:

  • Must hold a full UK driving licence
  • Must be over 21 years of age (for company vehicle insurance)
  • Confident working at height and in underground network
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Hold a valid SA001 / SA002 / NRSWA street works Operative unit 2 card (desirable)
  • Hold or have held PIA accreditations (desirable)
  • Risk assessment and hazard identification and a strong focus on Health and Safety practices.

Contract Duration & Rates:

  • This is a long-term contract role and you will be paid for the jobs you complete, see below estimations of jobs and earnings. (Average completions per day is 4, some people do up to 6-7 per day)
  • Full install job rates are £50 per job, comes with a fuel card
  • Partial install job rates (step 1 or step 2) are £25 per job
  • Sub Provide installs are £16 per job
  • Once up to speed, you should be doing 4 jobs per day average, up to 6-7 jobs at peak.
  • You are paid self-employed CIS via a payroll company. Wages are paid weekly 2 weeks in arrears.
  • We hold a retention pot up to £500 currently which is to protect M-Group/Avonline and their assets. We start to take this retention from when you start doing your installs and it’s taken each week (the amount varies based on jobs completed). Once you hit £500, no more retention is taken, any speeding or parking fines, or damage to customer property, van or tools missing would then be taken out of this retention pot and the remaining amount would be returned to you 28 days after leaving and handing the van and tools back.
  • This is working outside in all weather conditions.
  • This is physical work, and some equipment/materials are heavy.
  • Samsara system this is a Live CCTV and location finder for health and safety to yourself and the Company.

Jobs per day:

  • 3 jobs per day = £34k per annum
  • 4 jobs per day = £46k per annum
  • 5 jobs per day = £57k per annum
  • 6 jobs per day = £69k per annum

If targets are hit, the above have bonus payments attached to them.
