*Pay:* up to £51,000 per annum
*Shift options:*
- *Four days per week:* 15:00pm – 02:30am
- *Five days per week:* 16:00pm – 12:00am (midnight)

Irlam Associates specialises in recruitment across transport, logistics and supply chain. We are recruiting an *HGV Technician* on behalf of our client to support the maintenance, safety and reliability of their commercial vehicle fleet.
*The Role*
You will carry out servicing, inspections, diagnostics and repairs on HGVs, ensuring vehicles are maintained to a high standard and returned to service safely and efficiently. Working closely with the workshop and transport teams, you will help minimise vehicle downtime and maintain fleet availability.
*Key Responsibilities*
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and safety inspections on HGVs.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and rectify identified defects.
- Repair braking, suspension, steering, transmission and associated vehicle systems.
- Identify and report defects, escalating safety concerns promptly.
- Complete accurate inspection sheets, job cards and maintenance records.
- Work with the workshop and transport teams to prioritise repairs and minimise downtime.
- Follow manufacturer specifications, workshop procedures and health and safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
*Skills and Experience*
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
- A recognised qualification in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair, ideally Level 3, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience carrying out HGV servicing, inspections and repairs.
- A good understanding of vehicle roadworthiness and workshop safety standards.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A reliable approach, strong attention to detail and pride in your work.
- An HGV driving licence would be advantageous.
*Pay and Working Hours*
*Up to £51,000 (DOE)*, with two shift patterns available:
- *Four days per week:* 15:00–02:30.
- *Five days per week:* 16:00–00:00.
