Workpack Engineer - Piping

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Workpack Engineer to support the delivery of a major industrial piping project.

The role involves developing and coordinating detailed workpacks to ensure engineering information is translated into clear, practical instructions for site construction teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage workpacks for piping and mechanical construction activities.
  • Review P&IDs, isometrics, drawings, specifications and engineering deliverables.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Planning, Construction, Quality and HSE teams.
  • Ensure workpacks include the required materials, drawings, procedures, inspections and testing requirements.
  • Support construction planning, sequencing and execution.
  • Update workpacks in line with design changes and site requirements.
  • Resolve technical and documentation queries during construction.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and workpack records.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Workpack Engineer, Piping Engineer, Construction Engineer or similar.
  • Strong understanding of piping installation and mechanical construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics and engineering drawings.
  • Experience preparing construction workpacks.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workpacks in a fast-paced site environment.
  • Experience within pharmaceutical, chemical, process or industrial projects is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • Relevant construction or engineering experience will be considered.
  • Valid Safety Passport required.
  • Relevant site experience/certification advantageous
