We're looking for a capable Site Engineer with strong CAD and setting out skills to join the delivery team on site. You'll work closely with the Section Engineer and project management team, taking responsibility for day-to-day engineering on your section of works.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out works using total station, GPS/GNSS, and levels - including kerb lines, drainage falls, footway/cycleway alignments and tie-ins
- Interpreting and working from CAD drawings (AutoCAD/Civil 3D) to produce setting out data and check as-built positions
- Preparing and checking method statements, ITPs, and inspection records
- Raising and managing RFIs where design clarification is needed
- Carrying out dimensional checks and recording as-built surveys
- Liaising with subcontractors, site supervisors, and the client's RE team
- Supporting the wider engineering team with quality documentation and site records
Requirements
- Proven site engineering experience on highways, active travel, or civil infrastructure schemes
- Strong setting out capability - total station, GNSS, digital levels
- Confident working with CAD drawings; ability to extract and use setting out data (AutoCAD/Civil 3D advantageous)
- Familiarity with ITP and NCR processes
- HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- CSCS card (Gold/Blue minimum)
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience on active travel, cycleways, or highway improvement schemes
- Previous work within a local authority or Highways England framework environment
- Experience working alongside Resident Engineers / clerk of works
