We are recruiting for a Project Controls Manager to join a leading Tier 1 contractor on a major civil engineering section of HS2. This is a pivotal role within a high-performing project team shaping the future of national transport infrastructure.
The Role
You will lead the full suite of project controls activities across a complex, multi-disciplinary construction environment. Working closely with project leadership, engineering, commercial and planning teams, you will ensure robust control of cost, schedule, risk and performance reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee integrated project controls including planning, cost management, risk, change and reporting
- Lead and develop a team of planners, analysts and project controls specialists
- Maintain accurate programme baselines and ensure alignment with contractual requirements
- Provide high-quality performance dashboards, earned value analysis and progress reporting
- Drive proactive risk identification, mitigation and trend analysis
- Support governance reviews, client reporting and strategic decision-making
- Ensure compliance with project standards, processes and digital systems
About You
- Strong background in project controls within major infrastructure, rail, highways or large-scale civils
- Proven leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary project controls teams
- Excellent understanding of cost control, planning methodologies and earned value management
- Skilled in Primavera P6, cost systems and project reporting tools
- Confident communicator able to influence senior stakeholders
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-profile programme environment
