The Opportunity
Step into a pivotal commercial role on the HTMC contract in Luton, where you’ll be the go-to person for all things commercial on site. Working alongside the Commercial Manager and Project Manager, you’ll drive financial performance, manage risk, and keep both clients and supply chains happy.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re open to Assistant or Project Quantity Surveyors with 3+ years’ experience in civils, infrastructure, or rail projects who are ready to bring their skills to highways maintenance. If you’ve got hands-on experience with on-site measures, commercial management, and stakeholder engagement, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Drive Commercial Success
- Take charge of contract variations, valuations, and dispute resolution
- Conduct on-site measurements and manage works orders through Causeway and client systems
- Prepare monthly forecasts and CVR reports that keep the senior team informed
- Submit AFPs and track certification to maintain healthy cash flow
- Lead Subcontractor Relationships
- Procure and negotiate with subcontractors to secure the best outcomes
- Manage payments, resolve disputes, and keep your supply chain engaged
- Ensure compliance while building partnerships that last
- Own Financial Performance
- Monitor costs, manage accruals, and keep WIP reporting tight
- Deliver accurate KPIs and client financial reports
- Authorise invoices and maintain robust cost controls
- Identify risks early and put mitigation plans in place
What You Bring
- 3+ years’ site-based experience on maintenance contracts (or civils/infrastructure/rail projects)
- Practical, hands-on experience with on-site measures
- Solid understanding of NEC contracts
- Confident with Causeway or similar systems
- Good Cost Value Reconciliation management experience
- Quantity Surveying Qualification
- Strong communicator who builds trust with clients and teams alike
- Natural problem-solver with sharp commercial instincts
