We are seeking an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join our client's highways maintenance team in Luton on the HTMC contract. This is a key commercial role focused on maximising recovery and cash flow whilst maintaining excellent client and supply chain relationships.
About the Role and Client
Our client is a leading highways contractor delivering essential maintenance services. As Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be the primary commercial contact on site, working closely with the Commercial Manager and Project Manager to ensure optimal financial performance and strong stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Management
- Manage main contract commercial matters including variations, valuations, and dispute resolution
- Conduct on-site measures and maintain Causeway and client works order management systems
- Compile and submit AFPs, track certification and payment of accounts
- Prepare monthly CVR reports and forecasts with the senior team
- Sub-Contract Management
- Procure, manage and negotiate with subcontractors
- Process subcontractor payments and ensure compliance with all conditions
- Resolve disputes and maintain positive supply chain relationships
- Financial Control & Reporting
- Check transaction reports and ensure accurate cost allocation
- Manage accruals, reconciliations, and WIP reporting
- Complete and submit contract KPIs and client financial reports
- Authorise purchase ledger invoices and ensure proper cost controls
- Risk Management
- Identify and escalate risks with mitigation plans
- Ensure no out of period costs and maintain WIP under 75% of turnover
