The Opportunity
We are seeking experienced Offshore Pipeline Inspectors to support major offshore pipeline installation projects. Successful candidates will provide independent quality oversight of welding and automated ultrasonic testing (AUT) activities during offshore construction operations, ensuring compliance with approved procedures, project specifications, and applicable industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Witness and monitor offshore pipeline installation activities in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Verify compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), fit-up requirements, essential welding variables, consumable control, and visual acceptance criteria.
- Witness and monitor AUT inspection activities, including weld scanning and repair verification where required.
- Identify, document, and report quality concerns, non-conformances, and deviations from approved procedures.
- Ensure inspection activities are completed in accordance with project requirements and recognised industry standards.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and support project reporting requirements.
- Promote safe working practices and intervene where unsafe or non-conforming activities are identified.
Requirements
- 5 - 10 years experience in offshore pipeline inspection, welding inspection, NDT, AUT, or related quality assurance roles.
- Demonstrable experience on offshore pipeline installation or pipelay projects.
- Strong understanding of pipeline girth welding and offshore construction activities.
- Experience inspecting J-Bevel and X-Bevel weld preparations.
- Proven AUT experience, including interpretation and assessment of subsea pipeline girth weld inspections.
- Experience with PipeWizard, Sonus, or similar AUT systems is highly desirable.
Qualifications
Candidates should hold one or more of the following:
- AWS CWI
- CSWIP Welding Inspector
- BGAS-CSWIP Welding Inspector
- PCN Weld Inspection
- PCN Ultrasonic Testing
- CSWIP NDT Certification
- BGAS-CSWIP NDT Certification
Additional requirements:
- Valid BOSIET
- Valid MIST
- Current Offshore Medical Certification
