About the Role

We're looking for an Estimator to join an internationally recognised civil engineering and construction contractor, known for delivering major transportation infrastructure including tunnels, roads, highways and high-speed rail. You'll prepare and manage accurate estimates for major infrastructure projects, supporting business objectives and building strong relationships with the supply chain.

You'll take ownership of cost estimates from tender review through to handover, working closely with tender planners, subcontractors and project teams to produce high-quality, competitive submissions on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, manage and supervise cost estimates in support of project and business objectives
  • Review tender documents and drawings
  • Produce detailed cost risk analysis and work breakdown analysis, and maintain risks and opportunities registers
  • Procure quotes for materials and subcontract packages, and prepare quotation comparisons
  • Estimate prime costs using estimating software (Candy preferred)
  • Agree methodology and sequencing with the tender planner
  • Prepare tender settlement reports and submission documents, and contribute to mid- and post-tender meetings
  • Hand over secured tenders to the project team
  • Keep rates and supplier databases up to date

Key Requirements

  • Previous estimating experience on large-scale projects, particularly roads, tunnels, motorways and structures
  • Proficient in Candy estimating software
  • Extensive experience liaising with the supply chain
  • Understanding of contractual risks in NEC and other infrastructure contracts
  • Self-motivated, proactive team player who can meet tender deadlines
  • Desirable: strong written and verbal presentation skills

If you're an experienced estimator with a strong supply chain network and a track record on large-scale infrastructure, we'd love to hear from you.
