We are assisting our client, a Top 10 M&E contractor, on their search for an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join on a major data centre project in West London. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved from the early stages of a prestigious development.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all design, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems
- Manage busbar systems and associated £15 million electrical package
- Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Manage project budgets, cost controls, and financial reporting
- Oversee client interface and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Coordinate with the main contractor, consulting engineers, and other stakeholders
- Monitor progress against programmes and implement corrective actions where necessary
- Manage procurement of materials and equipment
- Conduct quality inspections and ensure work meets specifications and standards
- Prepare progress reports, variations, and close-out documentation
Requirements
- Busbar experience is essential
- M&E experience on data centre or mission-critical project
- Proven track record delivering large-scale commercial or data centre projects
- Strong understanding of electrical design, installation standards, and regulations
- Experience with high-voltage systems and power distribution
- Excellent commercial acumen including cost management and contract administration
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Project Management
- Professional registration or equivalent (preferred)
- Knowledge of data centre infrastructure and critical systems
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Collaborative approach and team player mentality
