Established automotive manufacturing organisation seeks enthusiastic, organised, IT proficient, good communicator to join their busy team as Materials, Logistics and Planning Co-Ordinator. The purpose of the role is to manage customer and logistics partner relationships; foster positive relationships; liaise with planning to ensure customers are informed of accurate and up to date delivery requirements; process orders and oversee cycle of order fulfilment, being responsible for ensuring supplies, stock, materials, packages, and products are processed through the delivery and warehouse system efficiently and safely.
Offered as a Temporary to Permanent contract with competitive salary and immediate start available, the role would suit a pro-active individual with excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), problem solving and task management ability and a proficient user of MRP/ERP systems. Previous experience within a Manufacturing Production and Logistics environment is essential (preferably Automotive Manufacturing).
Duties:
- Co-ordinate and manage Customer Service and Logistics projects
- Ensure customer schedules / orders are input onto system in a timely manner
- Handle complex and escalated customer service issues
- Facilitate the shipping of products, producing all delivery documentation and labels for production
- Arrange transportation, orchestrate deliveries to meet customer demand
- Maintain logs of additional transport costs
- Receive products and coordinate delivery
- Ensure activities are met throughout the order fulfilment and transportation cycle
- Oversee inventory of goods and vehicles
- Maintain accurate records and document service activities and discussions
- Keep customers updated with order information
- Supplier (Sub-Contractor) Management monitor/review service and prices
- Review freight costs, transportation rates, and/or the prices of raw materials to keep costs down where possible
- Streamline shipping and transportation processes
- Liaise with Suppliers to progress orders
- Raise Subcontract notes and booking on to system (FactoryMaster)
- Report Supplier data to Management
Skills and attributes required:
- Previous Materials, Logistics and Planning experience
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems in an automotive manufacturing environment
- Understanding of ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 and their contribution to the business to help to achieve objectives and ensure compliance
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation
- Customer service experience with excellent communication skills
- Ability to stay calm under pressure
- Excellent communication, highly organised, IT proficient
Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Hours of Work: Mon Thurs 7 am 4 pm, Fri 7 am 1pm
Salary: GBP32,000 p.a. to GBP35,000 p.a. dependent upon experience
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
