What We’re looking for We are looking for someone who is confident in managing and developing teams, supporting colleagues to perform at their best and contributing to a positive, collaborative working environment. The successful candidate will be able to build strong working relationships both internally and externally, developing a reliable professional network and gaining the trust, respect and support of stakeholders. You will be highly numerate and literate, with strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate information clearly and effectively to a range of audiences. You will demonstrate the ability to set clear goals, organise priorities and manage workload proactively. Showing initiative, self-motivation and a strong sense of ownership in your work whilst being adaptable and responding positively to change, with the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills highly desirable (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data analysis tools). A passion for merchandising and fashion, with a good understanding of the industry and competitors, with experience in an assistant merchandiser role, looking to progress to the next step in your career.

Responsibilities You will be responsible for driving the commercial performance of the department, ensuring financial targets are achieved and supporting the delivery of the overall business strategy. Working closely with Buying, you will lead seasonal planning, develop and implement effective commercial strategies, and manage key profit drivers including sales, stock, markdown and margin to maximise profitability and long-term growth. In-season, you will actively trade the department, using data and market insight to make informed decisions that optimise stock levels, reduce risk and capitalise on sales opportunities. You will collaborate with branch merchandising and cross-functional teams to ensure stock is effectively allocated across stores and that the product range remains commercially balanced, on-trend and aligned with customer demand. You will also play a key role in developing and leading the team, providing clear direction, coaching and regular feedback to support performance and career development. By building strong relationships across the business and with external partners, you will help create a collaborative environment that supports the successful delivery of departmental and wider business objectives.
