Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Level 3 practitioner role based at the Snodland nursery.
The practitioner will plan, deliver, and review engaging, age-appropriate activities that follow children’s interests and support learning through play.
Day-to-day responsibilities include observing and recording children’s development, contributing to learning journals, and communicating effectively with families and colleagues.
The role involves maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment, implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, and supporting children’s personal, social, and emotional development.
The practitioner will work collaboratively within the team, participate in staff meetings and training, and help ensure high standards of care and safeguarding are consistently met.
Qualifications
- Relevant early years qualification at Level 3 or above (e. g., NVQ, Diploma in Early Years Education or equivalent) and strong understanding of the EYFS framework.
- Skills in planning, delivering, and evaluating play-based learning activities that follow children’s interests and support holistic development.
- Experience with observing children, recording assessments, and contributing to individual learning plans while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Strong safeguarding, health and safety, and child protection knowledge, with the ability to follow policies and respond appropriately to concerns.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with children, families, and colleagues in a respectful and inclusive manner.
- Ability to create nurturing environments, support children’s emotional well-being, and manage routines such as mealtimes, rest, and outdoor play.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, reflective practice, and continuous improvement in early years pedagogy.
- Previous experience in a nursery or early years setting is highly beneficial; paediatric first aid training is an advantage.
