We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This is a varied and hands-on role, supporting all areas of the accounts function while working closely with all members of the finance team. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in general accounting, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. A training contract may be available for the right candidate. This role would also suit a capable, experienced individual who is not formally qualified, or someone returning to work and looking to re-establish their career in finance. This is an exciting time to join the team, as the department is currently transitioning from Sage to Microsoft Business Central. The successful candidate will support this migration, including assisting with data preparation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare and maintain financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Perform financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making
- Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
- Provide holiday cover across the finance department as required
- Support the migration from Sage to Microsoft Business Central, including data preparation and validation
- Help improve financial processes and identify efficiencies
- Support audits and liaise with external stakeholders where required
- Provide ad hoc financial support to the Director of Finance
Key Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in a general accounts or finance role
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, or financial planning
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including data analysis, formulas, and reporting)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage, Microsoft Business Central, or similar)
- Part-qualified AAT, ACCA, or CIMA (or working towards qualification)

Place of Work
Office based in Victoria, London, UK. Flexible working hours – office based 5 days per week or mix of office and home-based working, but with at least 3 days in the office. NB: Office will be relocated to Mayfair (Oxford Street / Bond Street area) sometime before September 2026.
