Hybrid – Offices in Leeds and Tamworth. Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours Monday to Friday. Basic salary £30,000 to £45,000 depending on experience + uncapped commission.

SM UK are the UK’s No1 Auto Electrical and Van Conversion company offering a Nationwide service with sites in Leeds, Tamworth and Dartford. The company specialises in Turn‑Key solutions for on‑the‑go customers, offering fully converted vans ready for the road with bespoke racking, on‑board power, charging, warning lighting, strobes, beacons, working lights, camera systems, safety features, welfare conversions, crewcabs and mobile workspaces. An additional service is van conversion for customers who already own vehicles or fleets.

With continued growth and a new purpose‑built Head Office and workshop in Leeds, we are recruiting a Business Development Manager to join the Van Division Team and focus on increasing commercial van sales, van conversion sales and workshop volume.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed sales targets with uncapped commission potential.
  • Generate UK‑wide leads and network across the industry.
  • Build a database of high‑quality leads and a pipeline of potential business throughout the UK.
  • Create quotations and conduct proactive follow‑ups.
  • Manage accounts and customer relationships.
  • Provide an exceptional customer experience.
  • Follow internal procedures when processing orders.
  • Liaise effectively with internal departments to deliver seamless customer service.

Qualifications

  • Experience within the automotive industry or a similar setting.
  • Strong sales experience with proven ability to develop and identify contacts, build a database of leads and generate a pipeline of potential business across the UK.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, capable of building long‑standing relationships with new and existing clients and strategic partners.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and target‑driven, confident in communicating at all levels.
