We are looking for an experienced Crestron programmer to join our programming department. You will be a key member of the SMC team and help to deliver cutting edge integrated home technology in some of the most prestigious homes in London, and further afield. As part of SMC, you will work alongside supportive and friendly colleagues including programmers, network engineers, installation engineers and security engineers.

You will need excellent Crestron knowledge and programming ability, and be confident delivering a Crestron system from initial off-site programming through to full commissioning, testing and client handover. Any knowledge of other integration systems such as Lutron, KNX, Control4, Savant and AMX would be advantageous but is not essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Program, commission, test and handover large Crestron systems
  • Customise SMC’s base Crestron code to the requirements of each project using SIMPLEdit and program Crestron SIMPL and SIMPL+ modules
  • Interface with and control 3rd party systems including AV, lighting, HVAC and security
  • Work with our Design Department to create user interfaces using VTPro & Construct
  • Work with our Aftercare Department providing support for our existing installations
  • Depending on your experience with other integration systems, you will also help to deliver and maintain KNX, Control4, Savant, AMX and Lutron systems

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years relevant experience within the industry
  • A high level of ability in Crestron programming
  • A wide knowledge of the Crestron product range
  • Experience integrating with third-party residential systems
  • Experience working on their own and as part of a larger team
  • A methodical and logical approach to programming and troubleshooting
  • The ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • The ability to interpret schematics and spreadsheets
  • Be comfortable interacting with other trades on site and with clients
  • Be prepared to work away and abroad from time to time

Advantageous but not essential:

  • A keen interest in and knowledge of Audio Visual technology
  • Knowledge of other integration systems such as KNX, Control4, Savant, AMX, Lutron
  • Full and clean UK driving licence
  • Crestron SIMPL# programming
  • HTML5 programming
  • Basic electronics knowledge
  • Ability to terminate cable connectors through crimping and soldering
