A new permanent opportunity for a Senior Molecular Biologist has recently become available. This is an exciting role for an experienced scientist eager to contribute to advancements in the gene therapy industry by working on synthetic DNA manufacturing. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in molecular biology, particularly in DNA manufacturing and genetic engineering. You will be responsible for genetically engineering plasmid DNA starting material for synthetic DNA products, contributing to a rapidly growing field.
Key Skills and Experience:
- 2+ years of industry experience in plasmid construction
- 1+ year of experience in GMP environments
- Expertise in creating theoretical sequence maps, primer design, bacterial transformation, and amplification
- Demonstrable experience in designing strategies and experiments for constructing complex plasmids
- Experience in DNA purification kits at various scales, using both commercial kits and self-packed hardware
- Client-facing experience
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency in cloning methods such as PCR, Golden Gate, and Gibson Assembly
Strongly Desired:
- Experience in a CDMO environment
- Experience using 3+ cloning methods for a single plasmid construct
