Job Summary:
We are looking for a Field Based Territory Sales Manager covering the Cambridgeshire, East Anglia, Hertfordshire & Essex region on a permanent basis. The territory is a multisegmented territory including Academia, Clinical and Biotech/Pharma accounts.
We are looking for an experienced individual with a strong track record of selling and a determined approach to network through large, complex organisations with the aim of growing and retaining existing and new relationships.
Selling laboratory consumables, and equipment, so Account Management and Business Development skills will be essential to succeed in this role. You will immerse yourself into the world of biotech and Pharma.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing a portfolio of customers across a wide range of industries, a key component of success will be close coordination and collaboration with a team of product specialists leading these product segments to generate sales within your accounts to hit sales targets.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders within the business but also within various departments of the customers you are working with.
- Collaborate and work effectively as a team to ensure you maximise all opportunities that present themselves. Using your colleagues’ specialist product and technical skills will allow you to distinguish yourself and your products from the competition.
- Support your colleagues with any sales of these key consumables’ products within their accounts, requiring collaboration and team spirit to ensure you work closely together so being a strong team player is key.
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with customers to provide a high level of support and service to existing accounts.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Must live within the territory.
- Motivated and pro-active in your approach to work, to drive business and generate sales with new and existing customers.
- Being highly organised, taking time to plan and then execute your sales strategy will ensure success in this role.
- Previous Account management or business development skills
- 5 years field sales experience ideally within academia and research, Biotech, clinical and Pharma or industrial laboratory environments.
- Enthusiasm to grow territory performance by approaching new and prospective customers, by appointments or by cold calling.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage and prioritise own workload.
- Full UK driving licence is essential for this role, as you will be travelling around the region to your customers daily.
