We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality and Compliance Officer to join our innovative and fast-paced business on a temporary basis. In this role, you will be part of our ops team, reporting to the Operations Director but working closely with the wider business to create a culture of compliance.

  • Advise management to ensure company compliance with laws and regulations through detailed reports.
  • Conduct regular internal audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and determine whether policies and processes are compliant with the relevant laws and regulations.
  • In conjunction with management, investigate and create effective action plans in response to audit discoveries, compliance violations or adverse events.
  • Remain informed and up to date with environmental standards, laws and regulations.
  • Communicate confidentially with employees at all levels and address any concerns staff may have about ethical or other compliance matters within a department or division.
  • Support request for Information (RFI) and request for quotation (RFQs) which are received by the business.
  • Provide hands-on team training, coaching and mentoring to management and employees to ensure all staff are informed of any legal changes and updates to compliance guidelines.
  • Implement and monitor a suitable waste management plan for the premises and advise other group premises on local implementation.
  • Support the facilities team and the wider SLS group when required.

Immediate availability and willingness to learn and challenge yourself, strong sense of initiative with the desire to grow as an individual as well as part of the business.

IT literate, with the ability to extract, analyse and examine data to provide concise reports and advice to management. Flexible approach to different working styles, shift patterns and job roles to meet deadlines, should the need arise. Ability to communicate confidently and effectively across all levels of the business and tailor communication style according to the audience. Passion for working independently and as part of the team.

Full and valid UK driving licence and be prepared to travel to other group companies to attend meetings and reviews, if required.
