About the role
The position offers the opportunity to:
- Apply your experience and knowledge to the design of tailings and waste rock facilities.
- Actively contribute to growing the size and developing the technical capability of the mine waste team.
- Have a high degree of autonomy in managing your workload and receive recognition for your contributions to delivering multi-disciplinary projects.
- Help deliver projects and develop new business in Spain and Latin America.
- Work with a capable and experienced team to provide support as a mine waste specialist within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver complex projects.
- Develop good relationships with existing clients and build new ones to grow the business.
- Establish and elevate your reputation among international professionals, with potential to become a recognized leader in mine waste within a diverse, growing international company.
About you:
If you believe this is your next career move, we would love to hear from you. To succeed, you should demonstrate:
- A relevant Geotechnical qualification, either Chartered or eligible, with a specialization in Tailings Engineering and significant experience within a Geotechnical Consultancy.
- The ability to lead projects from concept through feasibility to final design and implementation, providing guidance to clients.
- Fluency in French or Spanish, excellent report writing and communication skills in English, and the ability to prepare proposals, reports, and design documents.
- Experience managing, leading, and mentoring teams, and delivering both geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects.
- A full UK driving license.
It would be advantageous if you also have:
- Knowledge of mining standards such as GISTM, ANCOLD, CDA, etc.
- Experience in water management and water balance modeling.
- Experience with geotechnical software like GeoStudio or Plaxis.
- Experience acting as Deputy Engineer or Designer of Record for tailings facilities.
