SLR Recruitment are delighted to be working with a local client based in Portsmouth who are looking for a Multi-Skilled Carpenter to join their maintenance team. This is an excellent temp to perm opportunity for an experienced and reliable Multi-skilled Carpenter looking to join a well established business. The successful candidate will be confident working independently, managing their own workload and carrying out a variety of maintenance tasks to a high standard.
Pay Rate (first 3 months): £16.00 per hour
Permanent Salary: £35,000 per annum (following successful completion of the temporary period)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
Call out Rota: There is an optional call out scheme, £50 per call out and then your hourly rate for every hour after
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out a range of maintenance duties including tiling, painting and decorating, and general carpentry
- Support the maintenance team with current refurbishment projects across the hotel, including the renovation of the library, hallways, landings, bathrooms and other key areas
- Manage your own workload and prioritise tasks effectively
- Work independently and use your initiative to identify and resolve maintenance issues
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks as required
- Complete refurbishment and maintenance works to a high standard, ensuring all tasks are finished safely and efficiently
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Maintenance role
- Experience with tiling, painting and decorating, and general carpentry
- The ability to work independently and hit the ground running
- A proactive attitude with excellent problem-solving skills
- Good knowledge of current health and safety procedures, with IOSHH awareness being advantageous
