We are delighted to be offering an opportunity for an apprentice to work in the leading Mineral Processing Testing Facility in Europe. The laboratory provides high quality mineral exploration and mining consultancy as well as metallurgical test work programmes ranging from initial bench scoping investigations to feasibility studies and pilot plant campaigns. We have extensive experience on a variety of ore and commodity types from across the world. Our metallurgical testing forms a key part of the overall development of a mining project, with testing being conducted to the highest standard and consideration made to the overall project economics, as well as metallurgical performance.
The Role
You will be enrolled onto the Apprenticeship Standard: Laboratory Technician L3 - Truro & Penwith College. This level 3 qualification is 2 years and 3 months in duration and will support.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing samples for testing in accordance with laboratory requirements.
- Following written procedures and standard operating instructions.
- Undertaking basic standardised tests independently.
- Providing support and assistance to metallurgical staff as required.
- Carrying out general laboratory duties.
- Maintaining, calibrating, and cleaning laboratory equipment as appropriate.
- Working safely at all times and adhering to company Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and COSHH regulations.
About you.
To be eligible for the apprenticeship you require Grade 4 (C) in English, Maths and a science. You will demonstrate:

- Good communication skills
- Commitment to further learning
Given the location of the role a driving licence and own transport is desirable.
