SLR Consulting is a leading global environmental and sustainability consultancy working on projects across the world from over 100 offices. We have a great opportunity for a Graduate Engineering Geologist / Geologist based in our Stoke or Nottingham. This is a hybrid role working between home and office. The Land Quality and Remediation team undertakes a broad and diverse range of geo-environmental, geological, and geotechnical projects across all SLR’s key sectors e.g. property development, infrastructure, energy, waste management, mining etc. The position offered forms part of the continued expansion of the Bolton team due to a strong pipeline of exciting projects and comes with an excellent opportunity for career progression.

The successful candidate shall be responsible for assisting with the delivery of projects to a high standard and supporting the continuous development of the team. This key role requires close collaboration with the senior members of the team and with technical specialists in other disciplines.

The Role Includes But Is Not Limited To:

  • Completion of ground engineering, contaminated land, mining / geology desk studies;
  • Act as a Site Engineer or supporting role, supervising multiple ground investigation / ground remediation / CQA activities on either short or long duration projects with potential working away from home;
  • Supervision of site works including logging of soils and rock (in accordance with current UK standards);
  • Site monitoring activities to include groundwater sampling and gas monitoring;
  • Specify and supervise in-situ testing and sampling in accordance with UK specifications and current technical standards;
  • Liaise with clients, engineers, contractors and sub-contractors throughout the site work phase;
  • Assist in the preparation of Health and Safety and contract documentation and administration of contracts (including financial control);
  • Geotechnical and Geo-environmental data assessment, analysis and reporting.

About You:

  • BSc in Geology, Engineering Geology, Environmental Science or similar. MSc advantageous but not essential;
  • A full and clean UK driving license and use of own vehicle;
  • Knowledge of relevant UK ground investigation techniques would be advantageous;
  • Good communication, report writing, data analysis and computer software skills;
  • The ability to work as part of a team and follow strict Health & Safety protocols;
  • A desire to build a successful career in the ground engineering sector.
