The predicted salary is between 800 - 1400 £ per month.
You would be based within our Hydrology & Hydrogeology team working mainly on projects related to groundwater, surface water, water resources and flooding in the UK and Ireland. The types of projects we work on include Environmental Impact Assessments, hydrogeological impact and risk assessments, water resources and water balance studies, permitting and licensing, and feasibility studies. There would be opportunities to work with other teams in our multidisciplinary consultancy in fields such as Ecology, Soil Science, Land Quality and Geotechnical Engineering.
Your role would involve the following:
- Site work within the UK to collect environmental data and samples. The locations of our clients means that site work would require you to be away from home for short periods.
- Data management, quality assurance, and interpretation, including the use of specialist software and GIS.
- Contributing to written reports and other project deliverables.
- Upholding our teams' health and safety culture.
The Apprenticeship:
The Environmental Science (Practitioner) degree apprenticeship is delivered by Keele University through a hybrid on-site/distance learning model. It covers a wide range of environmental science, geoscience and environmental business topics that are closely aligned with the services we provide to our clients. About you:
You will have a strong interest in sustainability and the environment and due to the nature of the work be happy to combine both out of doors and office-based activities. You will want to work in a small team in which you will have an important role but also be supported.
To meet the entry requirements of this apprenticeship you will have the following qualifications:
- GCSE Maths and English ‘level 2’ or higher.
- Three A-levels at grades ‘BBC’ or BTEC ‘DMM’ or International Baccalaureate score of ‘29’.
You would also have:
- Good IT skills, including familiarity with MS Office software.
- A desire to learn, and the ability to problem solve and work independently when required.
- Good numeracy, written and verbal communication, and timekeeping abilities.
The following may be advantageous to this role but are not essential:
- Qualifications in maths, science subjects and/or geography.
- Experience spending time or working out of doors.
- Confidence reading and using maps.
- Familiarity with coding.
