Join Our Growing Geotechnical Team! Are you an early-career Engineer passionate about geotechnical engineering? Aspiring to become a chartered geologist (CGeol) or chartered civil engineer (CEng)?

The role

  • Hands-On Experience: Work closely with senior colleagues on site supervision, laboratory testing, and geotechnical analysis.
  • Diverse Projects: Gain exposure across multiple geoscience disciplines.
  • UK and Overseas Opportunities: Supervise projects locally and abroad.

Duties will include:

  • Monitoring and supervision of fieldwork including ground investigations, landfill engineering, earthworks
  • Collecting soil samples for geotechnical testing
  • Carrying out insitu geotechnical testing
  • Geotechnical data logging
  • Scheduling geotechnical laboratory testing
  • Preparing factual reports
  • Preparing health and safety plans and risk assessments

Please note that, due to site travel requirements, a full driving licence valid in the UK is essential for this role.

About you

  • Educational Background: Civil Engineering, Geology, Geological Hazards, Geotechnical Engineering, or relevant MSc.
  • Technical Skills: Understand UK ground investigation techniques, specifications, and standards.
  • Leadership: Comfortable supervising and instructing others to carry out fieldwork tasks efficiently and safely (full H&S training will be provided)
  • Professional Membership: Graduate level membership of a relevant body (or eligibility).
  • Experience: Demonstrable experience in Earth Sciences or Geotechnical Engineering is advantageous.
