SLR is a global leader in sustainability solutions, working with clients to help make sustainability happen, within a collaborative, people‑first culture. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Junior CAD Technician to join our established Transport & Mobility Planning team, delivering high‑quality transport and highways drawings and plans for projects across the UK.

Based in our London office, the role will focus primarily on producing transport‑related drawings using industry‑standard CAD software, with additional exposure to site measurements, data collection and multi‑disciplinary project support, as well as a small amount of other cross‑sector work spanning planning, infrastructure and built‑environment projects.

The Role

  • You’ll support the delivery of transport and highways design projects from initial data collection through to final drawing production, working closely with colleagues and multidisciplinary teams.
  • The role includes:
    • Producing high‑quality plans, drawings, diagrams and data outputs for planning applications, public consultation and public inquiry.
    • Ensuring all outputs comply with SLR CAD drawing standards, while developing your understanding of relevant design standards.
    • Undertaking on‑site measurements and data collection to inform design work.
    • Supporting Transport Planning teams by preparing plans using a range of CAD and design software (AutoCAD, Map 3D, KeySIGNS, KeyLINES, GIS, Adobe Illustrator, Vehicle Tracking).
    • Maintaining continuous professional development, including attending training as required.
    • Complying with operational requirements and maintaining accurate records.

You’ll collaborate with colleagues across Transport Planning, Infrastructure, Environmental and Built Environment teams, with opportunities for involvement in a wide range of UK projects.
